In the on going saga around energy efficiency in the freshly minted Labour government has announced its intention to mandate that all rental properties achieve a minimum EPC rating of C by 2030. This policy, confirmed by Ed Miliband, the Energy Security and Net Zero Secretary, on August 5, reflects a strong commitment to reducing fuel poverty and enhancing energy efficiency in the private rented sector.

Improving the energy efficiency of your properties is always good for it’s value and your tenants so there is no need to wait for further information is released, but if it’s going to cost a small fortune to get to a C rating, it’s probably wise to wait for more details to be announced.
